Get everyone back in the game.
ClanQuiz is in early access. These steps solve the common problems without losing household records.
Joining a room
- Keep the lobby and QR code visible on the host screen.
- Scan the QR with the phone camera, or choose Join game and enter the six-character room code. You do not need to find the host’s quiz first.
- If the household uses saved players, choose your player and enter its 4–6 digit PIN. Otherwise join as a guest when the host allows it.
A phone disconnected or its tab closed
With the tab open, the controller retries and restores the saved seat. If you closed it, open Join game or the game hub in the same browser and use Back to your game? to return to a remembered room. This returns with your existing seat rather than joining twice.
Browser storage needs to be allowed. Recent durable shortcuts last up to six hours. They are remembered rooms, not a promise the host is still playing: an ended room shows a clear exit. If there is no shortcut, scan the QR again or enter the code. Do not clear browser data while recovering a game.
No sound on the TV
Check Apple TV and television volume, then start a fresh Sound Check room. Picture-clue mode provides a sound-free alternative. The Apple TV app is still in private testing, so report the build number with any audio fault.
Saved player or PIN problem
A parent can sign in to Family profiles, select the player and set a new PIN. ClanQuiz does not collect a child email address.
Still stuck?
During private testing, send the room code, Apple TV build number, game name and the step that failed to the person who invited you. Do not send a password, recovery key or player PIN.
