Family play without child accounts.
Last updated 11 October 2026. This page describes the current early-access service. It will be reviewed before a public or paid launch.
Guest play
Players may join a room with a display name and avatar. A phone keeps its recent player choices in browser storage so they can be reused. Guests do not need an email address or a ClanQuiz account.
Optional household accounts
A parent may create one household account containing a household ID, secured parent password, recovery key, saved player names, avatars and PINs. The service stores password and PIN verifiers rather than the original secrets. A household can also store match results, medals, accuracy, timing records and private Family Lore packs.
Optional family playtest check-ins
A signed-in parent may record where a family session was hosted, the number of players, eight one-to-five experience ratings, whether a blocker occurred and an optional note. The latest 20 check-ins stay within the household account and are used to compare product improvements over time.
Optional product feedback
A signed-in parent may save one household response about the proposed Family Pass, including a purchase preference, valued features, return intention and optional note. This is product research rather than a purchase. Counts by answer are combined across households without names, notes or player data. The household response and its aggregate entry are removed when the household is deleted.
Private photos
A parent can optionally add a photo to a Family Lore question. The photo is resized in the browser and stored with that household’s pack. An active linked room receives an opaque, temporary path to show it. Do not upload sensitive images or images you do not have permission to use.
School practice and optional AI plans
Saved players can keep pending School questions, the latest 200 checked practice attempts and separate flashcard review dates. Parents can review all their household profiles; a player PIN session is restricted to that player. A parent may request an AI-selected study plan. Cloudflare Workers AI receives anonymous subject, primary year, reviewed topic and counts of missed, hinted and unfinished answers, with no household or profile identifier, name, PIN, written work or individual answer. The model selects from available topics and practice activities; the app supplies the factual evidence and existing explanations. Plans are shown for parent review, do not assess ability and do not change answer records. No request runs automatically. Ordinary practice remains available without AI. Household deletion removes its practice history and review dates.
Service data
Room codes, answers, timings and scores are processed to run a match. Rooms are temporary. Question reports store the question identifier and reason so content can be corrected. Technical logs may record request and fault information needed to operate the service.
What we do not ask children for
ClanQuiz does not require a child email address, real name, date of birth, school or location. The current service has no advertising and does not sell player data.
Your choices
Guest browser data can be removed using the browser’s site-data controls. Parents can sign out, reset player PINs, change their Family Pass feedback, record playtest check-ins, archive Family Lore packs or permanently delete the entire household from Family profiles. Deletion requires the parent password and removes saved players, records, playtest check-ins, feedback, trophies, Family Lore and its private photos. A named privacy contact is still required before public paid launch.
